Last year a customer contact us and asked for a rally adv kit for his next bike , he had to move from his country to UAE according to his job and he was in need for a new bike to cover his needs on the desert and long distances without gas stations. We was between the KTM 690 E and the Husky 701 E .The problem was that we didnt had a kit or anything for the 701 .. He said as he was a 690 owner he would like to have a 701 and he asked if we could buy a 701 and convert it to a Adventure bike with auxiliary fuel tanks ,navigation tower ,a bullet proof engine protector and anything else was needed to make the best Adventure bike out there !! We said: -YES ,lets do it ! We didnt loose time ,next day we contact the dealer in Greece and we bought the bike . A low used bike (approx 2000Km) in perfect condition this was the best option for our adventure build !! The project was to make an adventure kit which will be extremely simple to mount on the bike ,we choose to use the KTM 450 2015-2018 Windshield and some other parts from this model for our project . KTM 450 RFR 2015-2018 Windshield is a windshield which has beed tested under extremely terrains and rallies arround the world and of course on the mother of rallies the Dakar rally . First task was the fuel tanks ,we removed the plastic panels of the bike and nothing more .We didnt relocate anything as our project was a kit "friendly" with all the meaning of the word .As we had made a kit for the KTM 690 E now we was wiser and we had a big experience how to do a better one . We start modifing the KTM 690 E fuel tanks in order to fit on the 701 frame as is ,with all the parts of the frame on its original places .It was not an easy job ,we failed many times to make a proper fit fuel tanks . After all these fails we finally did it !!The fuel tanks had a great fit with the frame of the bike to be as is with no mods and relocations like " relocate the regulator " - " relocate the horn " - " cut the plastics " - " remove the airbox " etc . Standard exhaust remain on its original place ,no extra lower pipes needed . The seat fits on the standard brackets and on the frame not on the tanks or any other extra bracket . Fuel tanks can hold 13L on total ,comes with a Dakar tested KEIHIN fuel pump .The fuel tanks conection its really simple ,just link the rear tank on the front tanks and work with the Keihin pump or you can make it work with 2 fuel pumps and keep control of the fuel as you will have the option to choose which tanks will empty first ! -Tanks are made of multy layers Carbon Fiber ,epoxy resins and reinforced inside with vinylester .Vinylester is one of the best materials to protect the tanks of the acid fluids . -The brackets we made are billet aluminium made on a latest technology CNC machine. On the Husky 701 you will find 4 mounting points on the front main headstock ,these points. These points was the perfect place to fit a proper and biller bracket for the navi tower ! -Navigation tower we have made 2 options : 1.Mastech Navi tower This is the best navi tower out there ,extremely simple and compaq .With a lot of space inside to fit all the wiring harness proper and clean . It comes with a plate for all the standard indicators ,Δ button ,the standard speedo and lot of place to add your own GPS or your tablem .Optionaly can come with a Roadbook plate with OEM speedo place-indicators and 2 icos . It comes ready with all the bolts and spacers for Hella lights- KTM mask . Weight of the tower is 2.3Kg 2.PF Carbon fiber tower This option is great solution for anyone which asking a low weight tower ,it have all the benefits of the Mastech's tower .Its taller and in some cases require to extend your standard wiring harness .It comes with a plate for OEM Speedo-indicators and GPS and optionaly with a KTM OEM Rally Roadbook plate . Weight 910gr -For lights we use Hella lights ,as these lights are great for riding and are street legal all over the world! Hella is a top brand name on lighting solution and is used on many many auto moto companies and of course on KTM Dakar bikes ! -Skid plate (engine guard) ,this is a crucial part so we had to make something wich will keep strong on a big rock or even a crash but not so heavy. The best material for these job is the Carbon Fiber with aramid (Kevlar) reinforcement .A multi layers Carbon Fiber is the best way to protect the expensive engine of the bike and the fuel tanks with the also expensive Keihin fuel pump! -Side panels which hold the OEM KTM windshield and connect it with the fuel tanks are made of fiberglass .extremely strong and easy to mount .Made to mount on the Husky like the standard side panels ! -Seat ,we had to modify the seat in order to fit with the new tanks in front .New seat comes with Carbon Kevlar seat pan - comfortable foam and rally style cover with a pocket in the front .It fits like the OEM seat. On this build the main colors which Alejo (customer) asked was the black .. so we asked from our grafix designer to make the decals based on black color .The design he made was amazing and you can confirmed it on the pictures ! The last pieces of this great build was the rear side panels-the rear and front fender and the handguards ..We had to make something to be nice with the black theme .. What better of the black color from Carbon Fiber . In fact we build a complete Carbon fiber kit as all the parts of this bike are Carbon Fiber !! The bike was finally ready ,last task was the paper work and the flight to UAE from Greece but with some good faith everything solved and now Alejo enjoying his bike at the UAE deserts !! His feedback after a year of hard riding : "The kit.... I will recommend to everyone without doubt. It fits perfect on the bike, easy to install and easy to take it off for maintenance. Navi tower is also easy to work with, a lot of space for cables and everything there. Lights are good, definitely the kit is strong, I have had several falls some of them on hard rocks and some others on soft sand but fast and nothing but scratches."
We had the opportunity to work on a BMW G450X and add some parts in order to make it a rally bike ! The parts we used : https://www.perfect-fairings.com/product/mastech-complete-adventure-navi-tower-kit/ https://www.perfect-fairings.com/product/frame-adapter-for-navigation-tower-ktm-690-950se/ https://www.perfect-fairings.com/product/ktm-450-690-front-lower-fender-carbon-fiber-2015/ We also did 2 small side panels to cover the gap between OEM side panels and the KTM windshield . On the Mastech tower we made a special cut to fit the OEM Speedo and also the standard indicators . Customer asked to mount also his F2R roadbook ,so we did it on the tower ,for this installation we used the parts which provided from cuctomer the only we did was few drills in order to mount them :) The challenge was on the way to fit the navigation tower on the bike frame ,on our first convesation with the customer we agreed to weld a tab on front but after few days we change this decision and we made a new bracket .A real bolt on bracket made ,this part made by reshaping our existing KTM 690 Enduro bracket . With few magics the new bracket was ready .This is sure easy to installed as it use 2x upper small brackets and then a M10 U -Bold !! The fender was a direct bolt on job ,no need to do any extra work!! The bike looks amazing ,the overall building takes approx couple of hours as all parts are now made and no need for custom work !!
Dario Pena ,AKA Riding.The.World.DP , its a passionate rider based on Mexico. Dario was one of our very first customers on the KTM 690 Enduro lite fairing kit and the very first one which received the Mastech navi tower! Now after many many rallies which he participated and a lot of Km on adventure riding is the suitable rider to get an accurate feedback after his last 15000Km adventure "Continental 2019" : You can watch a documentary video of his bike build : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lom1Y3uqr8M&t=34s Also dont forget to subscribe on Riding The world DP youtube channel and watch more videos !! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQ9VZerijwHlJTp8VFLKNGw
A great build from Austria by Tom.
We received some nice pictures from our friend and customer Rene from Switzerland ,also his feedback : " Hello Dim, hope you and your loved ones are healthy and save. I did wirte a feedback for the the kit you sold me. I will send it via Messenger and hope you will post it. Or i can post it as a comment of the fotos, of my bike, that you postet. To all interrested in the Lite Fairing Kit Gen2, by Perfect Fairings. First, I must say, I’m not a moto mechanic. I do however, have my own bussines in sheet metal production which gives me experience in handling tools. This was for sure helpful but it is not required to install this kit. I had a lot of doubts and questions before I even ordered the Lite Kit. I can not thank Dimitris enough for his patience in answering my emails quickly and always having some good advise. Since this was the first time, for me, to install this kind of kit, I was expecting major problems and therefore I warned my Superhero-mechanic-friend (everybody should have one) well in advance to help me if need be. Turns out my worries did not materialise. Of course there were some minor issues but I filed them under „Beginner‘s mistakes“. After installing the kit, I realised that the bike was much better to handle. Visability is great. Windprotection is great (although I did not look for that). Biggest plus is stability at higher speed! I know, it is an enduro bike, nobody rides really fast on a bike like this. But where I live, I always need to ride on highways to get to the good stuff. All in all, I must say buying the kit was the best decision ever made! Best service from Dimitris! And yes, I would recomend the kit and Perfect Fairings any time. Cheers René"
It was time to start working on the new KTM 690 Enduro,so we start from drawing new designs and ideas about this new kit . The main idea which finally done reality was to keep the standard lines of the bike and make the kit as factory can be ,no new design from scratch but with the same lines . We decide to keep the OEM KTM Windshield from the previous model as we love the design ,its hard hard tested from KTM all these years on the Dakar rallies and all the FIM rallies arround the world .Also it comes with the OEM KTM Stone guard to protect your lights and the OEM KTM headlight mask ! The lights also remain the same Hella street legal lights but with the option if anyone need to update them to Hella LED street legal lights (withg additional cost) ,and also we use the OEM Hella LED position light . Lights comes with a plug and play wiring harness made from top quality materials and following ISO roules ,made from Smart Moto electronics a top brand with high quality standards! Navigation tower is also the same as on the previous models ,made from Mastech . Made from aluminium ,hard tested as we use it now for over 3 years withoout any fault ! With plenty space inside to fix your cables and have access to anything during a trip ,also the cables are inside the tower which provides an extra protection . The main headstock bracket was updated and comes ready and really plug and play ,with a CNC machined bracket and the safety which provide the M10 U-Bolt we use this bracket made to last forever. It mounts easy without removing the ignition key and without relocate the expansion tank. Side panels ... The new side panels are made to make your bike looks that is a factory KTM rally bike and not a kit which installed on your bike .Comes ready to install ,just remove the black side front panels and install your new ones ! Toolbox will be there for your tools as on the OEM panels .Very strong and durable and same time not heavy ! This kit made with love for anyone which like to have a factory adventure bike and not just a kit on his bike ..
This nice bike comes from a very far from us country ... China ! This build took many time in order to be ready as it have some nice and made to order parts ,such as the exhaust lower pipe which is on the right place insteed of the left, this made in order to give the "real" rally look and be as close to the KTM 450 RFR bike . One of the nice things on this bike is the seat as our friend from China didnt change the standard 690 seat but it modified in order to keep the budged low . On this build we provide: Carbon Fiber navigation tower Hella lights with harness Carbon Fiber engine guard protection Fuel tank brackets kit Engine guard brackets kit Also during this build we made some kits for future customers which are doing the same project ,so now we have available : Lower exhaust pipes Complete set of brackets Wiring harness for fuel pump ,Keihin pump Wiring harness for lights Hella lighs , H3 , Street legal Hella lights LED ,Street legal Lower fenders Radiator protection Rally style Fuel hoses kits ,with one way valves and fast connection couplings Carbon Fiber engine guard ,toolbox and brackets Navigation towers ,Aluminium or Carbon fiber If you looking any of the above parts feel free to contact us !!
Julien from Switzerland recently shared some pictures of his bike which is equipped with our 'KTM 9X0 Rally parts' . The colors are inspired from MotoRex Front lower fender is made higher than the stock fender ,more fun for offroad use Navigation Tower is made of High quality Carbon Fiber Rear panels and fender are also made by us Lights are street legal ,Hella . No modifications required to fit the kit on your bike Enjoy:
Yamaha XTZ750 Super Tenere - Project *by Marco Antonio Saldarriaga-Mastech There are many bike projects which start and end with great results .Sometimes are nice, sometimes are so so and sometimes are AMAZING . Marco ,Mastech founder, started his project with a Yamaha Super Tenere 750 .He found the bike and started working on it . Here i have to say that Marco is the meaning of perfectionist ,he is a very skilled man with high level knowledge of bikes and projects ! So lets see the project step by step : Chapter 1: PROJECT T7.5 ,Author Marco Antonio Saldarriaga NEW PROJECT (XTZ 750) YAMAHA T 7.5 This is a new project where not only a motorcycle will be restored as everyone does but it will be a radical change while retaining YAMAHA's DNA. The most significant changes will be suspensions, brembo brakes, exhaust, lighting system, digital dashboard, rally fairing, optimization of racing carburetors, new electrical system among others. This motorcycle has a great history in the Dakar that many do not know and I will tell you later. I baptized project T 7.5 since YAMAHA uses it in its current bikes, this motorcycle has a great past that I want to highlight in the present, it follows the evolution of this transformation. @mastechmoto @fullmotocom @12clicks @motozcolombia @africamotos @onmotorcycle @perfectfairings @maximacolombia @raceline_co #incolmotosyamaha #yamaha # xtz750 #tenere #mastechcustombikes #stephanepeterhansel #yamahacolombia #xtz750supertenere The original bike ... Chapter 2: disassembly I started with the disassembly of the T7. 5 after the engine I tried it and turned on the first attempt, it sounded good, as you can see disarming is easy and fast! Thanks to all who have joined to support the project Project T 7.5. During the disassembly I found some details that should be checked more thoroughly, rear brake eléctrico electrical wiring no but it does not matter that is the challenge of the restoration, do not know one sometimes you will meet, they are already 28 years rolling and something owes you to hurt!!! Disarming is still easy and rapid Project T 7.5. Once the motorcycle has been disassembled, the chassis and other motorcycle parts are checked, it goes to sandblasting or sandblasting all the parts, then with electro static paint or black powder coating we will start to give life to this Yamaha. Chapter 3 Collecting parts back together .. PROJECT T 7.5 While we receive several things from the painting process, we begin to manufacture parts that are very difficult to obtain but easy to MANUFACTURE !!! in this case they are the spacers of the rear wheel that with the use presented enough wear and that the retainers would not fulfill their function ... PROJECT T 7.5 The paint parts have arrived, this week I will be showing a significant progress on how the project is going and the jewels it will wear. Many parts have been obtained in @incolmotosyamaha the others in the rest of the world. For now I leave you how the engine was with all its details to be worthy of the Yamaha T 7.5. Gray paint, new gear lever, black galvanized hardware, new carburetor coupling rubbers and many other details left it ready. Engine Before: And After: PROJECT T 7.5 These will be the new accessories and restored parts that you will have the honor of using this marvel of Yamaha T7. 5, I will be giving step by step details of the installation of each The images say it all😎 PROJECT T 7.5 Started to join parts, chassis and engine. I started from the most basic changes in this case the footrest or estiberas using a KTM enduro which had them and just touch up slightly with milling machine and installed like the original. PROJECT T 7.5 Continuing the restoration project are some parts that have already suffered over the years, in this case a pipe cooling system which was attacked by rust, housing the thermostat and radiator, for these two latter was easy to get in @incolmotosyamaha the thermostat and thermostat housing and radiator supplier in China that manufactures for this bike, the tube could not be found and touched manufacture in @mastechmoto, pipe bending, machining parts and TIG welding were some processes to achieve this. In addition to this new silicone hoses leaving the cooling system as new to this bike PROJECT T 7.5 To the rear swingarm everything was done, electro static black paint, the basket of needles, bushings and dust covers were replaced, as for the rear brake caliper that was in regular conditions it had to be deepened a little more, the retainers got them in @incolmotosyamaha and the brake pistons although I found in England some make the decision to manufacture them in stainless steel, and I will test them and tell you how the test is, make some additional improvements in the brake such as installing the steely lines of @raceline_co made to the measure and change the conventional light suiche for a pressure suiche that provides greater reliability PROJECT T 7.5 To finish with the rear suspension we installed one of the crown jewels in the world of motorcycles, a specific Ohlins Shock absorber for this motorcycle, which thanks to @ 12clicks who is our dealer and preparer of this brand suggested us. In addition to that I decided to manufacture the cranks in @mastechmoto with laser cut to enhance the motorcycle 20 mm more, and later I will tell you the reason. PROJECT T 7.5 For the exhauster I got a full system stainless steel one of the most recognized brands in the market, the DAKAR REPLICA specific #arrowexhaust for this bike, this considerably reduces weight and gives it an appearance very Dakariana, decided to change the rear support by one in stainless steel made to measure that although it is not very visible already finished the motorcycle are the details that make it unique, hopefully when your engine starts to hear its hoarse melody 😅 PROJECT T 7.5 This part of the motorcycle begins to give touches of color taking it out of the monotony of the grayscale contrasting in the whole motorcycle but maintaining the sobriety of the project. New radios that fortunately @incolmotosyamaha had in its warehouse, new @allballsracing balneras, new rubbers for the silent block obtained in England, new brake disc, new spacers manufactured according to the original, new, MotoZ tractionator GPS 150/70 / tire 17 a true 50/50 that gives robustness and appearance and of course original rin and apple restored with baked powder paint, finally not satisfied with its plastic chain protector a custom made chain protector in stainless steel and aluminum with the personalized touch of the name of the project giving the unique details to this beauty (Recommendation for all bearings not only from this brand but from any brand and even on new motorcycles, check them, since they come with very little grease this because the applied grease is recommended for the bearings to roll with the specific friction in conditions normal but as we have Some of us who abuse these conditions prefer to grease the friction coefficient even more but ensure a longer life of these components.) PROJECT T 7.5 Finally it was time to install the holy grail of the front Suspensions of @ohlinsracing one of the most striking jewels that this project has, which are imposed by its majestic color and gives the touch of robustness that this spectacular motorcycle deserves, thanks to @ 12clicks for helping us choose them and prepare them for the weight and handling of this motorcycle, for the triple clamp or fork use one for # xtz660 offered by the OTR brand (OFF THE ROAD DE) German brand specialized in accessories for the yamaha XTZ, almost 95% compatible with its predecessor where its bearings are the same as before and now I only had to place a 5 mm bushing in the seat of the lower bearing to separate it from the chassis and leave space to adapt the steering stops, very content with the result and remained calm for one of the most important adaptations of the project😅💪 PROJECT T 7.5 The front wheel has its history, with it I ran a 450 RALLY ktm Replica in the 2014 Dakar, this motorcycle deserves it and owning accessories that have really been in a Dakar still makes it unique. With a 300 mm disc and a low carbon fiber fender from @perfectfairings, the project is getting a touch of elegance. PROJECT T 7.5 Continuing with the golden details, it was time to install the @ohlinsracing steering stabilizer ,, I had to design and manufacture the fixed post for this very easy installation motorcycle, this set will help to give better stability at high speeds in offroad driving, although not I have tried it even with its new suspensions gives it a good touch of security. PROJECT T 7.5 Each modification of the original brings other challenges, in this case was the details of the address: switch, steering stops and Choke, these could not be adrift and was another small design challenge and adaptation where the switch which owns lock pin should be in the proper position and had a support with good rigidity, this first phase started with a prototype that met the first part, good location, but when the stiffness test was done 😒 (did not pass), then redesign obtaining the desired stiffness 😁, the steering stops determine the steering angle and this was very easy to determine since the steering lock pin determines the maximum angle of rotation at the point it blocks, the chocke support also it was integrated in the same base of the suiche being everything made to measure with the signature of the project 👍 Chapter 4 Headlights-Dash Board-First engine tests Project T 7.5 Another great improvement in the project, the 5.75 "" LED lights not only in lighting performance but also gives another touch of elegance and modernism while maintaining its essence. The design of the pieces to support them made of laser-cut aluminum, coated with powder paint and the best components all manufactured by @mastechmoto make it seem like an OEM part of the brand, the images say it all The end is coming, I am sad but happy, sad because I am running out of the project, but happy because it will go rolling PROJECT T 7.5 A redesign not very usual on the motorcycle but I had to do it, the dashboard with the modern touch in digital while retaining the classic style of the round instruments, the previous dashboard worked in its entirety but with the change of front tire that no longer had The way to install the speedometer guava forced to design the new dashboard, including a digital tachometer with a horometer, digital temperature meter of the #trailtech brand which brings the perfect temperature probe where the motorcycle brings the original, indicator lights Neutral and directional and a speedometer with digital display that is based on GPS signal for speed reading, odometer and heading. It took into account all the factors of easy installation and connection without making any changes especially in the electrical system where both panels connect directly without problems, all this accompanied by a new complete electrical branch manufactured in the company @indusel_indusel specialized in electrical systems for motorcycles with their original connectors eliminating any possibility of future failure. PROJECT T 7.5 Handlebar, controls, cluth, mirrors and brake, of the most important parts of the motorcycle, is the interface between motorcycle and human, transmitter of all sensations from scares to emotions could not be denied anything to this crucial part with handlebars #progrip, softcontact, handsaver #barkbustershandguards in carbon fiber with integrated directional in the same handsaver and aluminum core, modern mirrors #yamaha, Manubrio in fatbar #yamaha aluminum, brake pump #brembobrake out of a KTM690R that matches her Nipper same bike, steely line #raceline_co brakes, cables cluth and new accelerator and of course controls lights, turn signals, whistle and customized on simpler interface make this almost perfect connection between human and machine. PROJECT T7. 5 We are getting life... The day expected to give life to the project arrived, the nerves of the first start and that the engine started were latent, new electric harness, charged battery, lights running and apparently the check list of all its components connected and tested one by one was ready, It was time to press the button, there was a start, the engine was spinning, the gasoline begins to reach the carburetors but ............ pitifully the first attempt did not turn on 🤔 check the spark plugs and there was no Spark and checking every detail I found a connector that sends the pulse of the stator that was not right, replace it with a new one and cross your fingers again and from then on everything was happiness, judge yourself,, thanks to @motobox_mde for mechanical advice and for lending the tool to balance the engine Oil pressure Ok Tenperatura Ok Carburetor balancing Ok Ok lights Directional Ok Stops ok Sound ok Before starting with the end part of fairings and paint, I had to first design some important accessories such as the side case supports, engine protector, radiator protector and upper suitcase support (these last two are the ones I owe) among others, although This motorcycle already has an original Carter protector, I wanted to design something more unique and robust with an improved support in 4 points and adapted to the contour of the curves of the exhosto, as for the suitcase supports designed and manufactured with the same quality that offers @ mastechmoto to support some new suitcases that will soon see them installed, here I leave the images for your opinion. Chapter 5 The final touches... PROJECT T 7.5 After finishing almost all the functional part of the motorcycle, we continue with the aesthetic part. I removed all the paint from the tank to see what surprises I had and obviously some dents were found that were filled with putty, so the tank had to be opened to be able to take them out from the inside and with a good brasswork job everything was very good and ready to painting. The other parts of the fairing arrived new but I always had a great doubt in what was the final finish, whether classic (as was the motorcycle) original or rally type 🤔, in the end for some reasons that I will let you know later the classic style was decided as The original motorcycle. PROJECT T 7.5 Already in the final stretch of this project we have the experience of one of the best companies and with more experience in Colombia @pintuco_oficial, which have an exceptional laboratory with a unique qualified staff, this company produces high quality automotive paints and entrust them This work of art for its final finish. Giving it a white color with a blue pearl that is enhanced under indirect lights that gives a touch of its brand essence, many thanks PROJECT T 7.5 After receiving all parts of the motorcycle, install them without any problem to start shaping the final product, in @tresdeko a company specialized in vehicle decoration that uses the best materials for this and with a highly qualified staff They gave the task of giving the final details to be able to leave it not only for display but to enjoy it as fresh out of the dealership. PROJECT T 7.5 Finished ... Now you have to hold your breath and see the final bike ... Enjoy !!!!!!! This project is THE PROJECT made with passion from Marco Antonio Saldarriaga at Mastech .
